Eleni Davou

Eleni was born and raised in Athens, Greece, and studied at the Greek Conservatory of Athens from where she earned a piano diploma with honors winning first prize (Barzouka Gaitanou), and a Monody diploma with honors (Karamanian Sonia). She continued to study singing with the baritone Voutsinos Francisco and currently studies with soprano Rosemary Kalafatis.

Eleni attended a seminar at the Academy Mozarteum in Salzburg for piano and singing with S. Ntorenski, Mr. Myers, R. Miller, and R. Knol. Since1996 she has collaborated with the Greek National Opera as a soloist in the opera The Magic Flute, Ariadne on Naxos, Hensel and Gretel, Cinderella, Norma, Tsar's Bride, Parisian Life, ragging Orlando, Xerxes, etc. She has also performed with the Chamber of Orchestra GNO under the direction of C. Hatzigeorgiou performing the gypsy songs of Dvorak in the Athens Concert Hall (tribute to N. Mantzaro) and the 1st Festival of Sacred Music in Patmo, Greece. She also collaborated with the Symphony Orchestra of the Municipality of Athens and the Orchestra of Colours.

She participated in the "Auditorium" Spyros Evangelatos for "Jonah" by Euripides at the ancient theater of Epidaurus, "EROFILI" Hortatzis at the Hrodeion Attikon Theatre, and together with the Symphony Orchestra of ERT, the folk opera of Law Mamangakis "Erofili”. In 2007 she collaborated with the Greek National Opera in "Nixon in China" (Adams) at the Megaron Mousikis. Since 2007 she has performed in productions of opera at the Theater Acropol with the Greek National Opera (Remember Those Years, Apaches of Athens, The Germ of Love). Eleni has taught seminars on "Discovering New Voice." She also teaches at the Greek Conservatory of Athens and at the Municipal Conservatory of St. Petersburg.
