Dionisis Sourbis

Baritone. Dionisis was born in Zakinthos, Greece. From 1991-2003 he studied trumpet with Dionisios Kladis. In 2005, he attained a singing diploma from George Samartzis at the A. Tourneissen Conservatory in Athens, and went on to begin his post graduate studies with professor Claude Thiolas in Treviso, Italy with whom he continues to study and where he continues to reside.

Dionisis has won the “Maria Callas Scholarship” competition two consecutive times (2005/2007). Other competitions won include “Totti Dal Monte” for the role of “Ford” in Verdi’s “Falstaff” (2006), International Opera Competition “Iris Adami Corradetti” (2006), “La Boheme” Competiotion in Venice for the role of “Marcello” (2007), International Opera Competition “Aureliano Pertile – Giovanni Martinelli” (2007), International Opera Competition “Spiros Argiris” (2007), International Opera Competition “Vincenzo Bellini” (2nd place, 2007).

His repertoire includes roles such as Figaro (The Barber of Seville), Silvio (Clown), Sotiris (The Ring of Mana), Ford (Falstaff), Marcello (La Boheme). He has performed at many prestigious venues in Greece and abroad such as the Greek National Opera House, Megaron Mousikis, Hrodeio Attikon, Aquila (Fermo), Tsirkolo della Lirika (Padova), Pergolesi (Gezi) Malimpran (Venice) Treviso, Rome Opera House.
